Halifax, NS, 2022

The Cunard public space project brought together a collaborative team from both coasts of Canada. Hapa as lead consultant, joined by Brackish Landscape Architecture and Eastpoint Engineering. Develop Nova Scotia conducted an inclusive and cretive public engagement process to set the framework for this important publci space on the Halifax waterfront. The project goals combined the creation of a comfortable and engaging public space with elements of flood/wave protection. Moments of risky play, fire circles, event infrastructure, seating/lounging/climbing structures, were encorporated into features such as drumlin bench and rocky outcrops, evoking the local landscape. The landscape architectural team worked with Atlantic Accessibility to ensure tha tthe design had considered accesssibility at all levels of detail.

Though detail design was completed, unfortunately the project was not ultimately realized.

With Brackish Landscape Archtiecture, Eastpoint Engineering, and Atlantic Accessibility. With Hapa Collaboraive. Sarah acted as project lead.
