City of Vancouver, 2017

This project provided a much-needed renovation of Vancouver's main space of protest and event, and the conclusion of the iconic Robson Square. A collaboration between a team of architects, urban designers and landscape architects, the process included extensive research on what makes highly urban open spaces both functional and meaningful to cities. The design features a custom paving pattern featuring local granite, a lantern-like pavilion, durable large-scaled benches designed to assist and allow for plaza operations, and an invisible stormwater collection system which supports a grove of maple trees.
